ABOUT
PROJECT
“He who plants a tree plants hope.”
Through Project Srijan, Enactus ARSD imagines moulding the force of nature
as the power behind strengthening two important communities- the Potters
and the Gardeners. Its foundation was laid in 2017 after analyzing and
considering the difficulties faced by these communities during the pandemic
period caused by the competitive market, lack of consistent demand, and
seasonal unemployment among the workers.
With Project Srijan, Enactus ARSD stepped in to provide a sustainable living
for them by contributing the channels needed to bridge the gap between their
skills and their needs. Subsequently, we have developed product lines like
handmade pots, plantable seeds, and indoor/outdoor plants.
To promote these products we showcase their uses and benefits through our
social media handles. Furthermore, we also create awareness regarding
various farming techniques our customers can employ at home, for example,
terrace and balcony gardening.
OUR COMMUNITIES
Project Srijan is an initiative by Enactus ARSD that envisages molding the power of nature as the binding force in the empowerment of two communities: the gardener's community and the potter's community. We collaborated with the underprivileged sections of both communities.
POTTER'S
COMMUNITY
We have collaborated with Ankita Suppliers in Mitti Market, Sarojini Nagar. The community was facing challenges in this highly competitive market. We have purchased miniature plants, handmade ceramic pots, seeds, and flower pots from the community. This increased their sales and helped them reach a total revenue of Rs. 5,000+ in 2022.
GARDENER'S
COMMUNITY
We have collaborated with the Yamuna Bank Community.
This community was facing many challenges and needed help to become self-sufficient.
We have collaborated with them and provided them with employment and a platform to sell their products.
