Project Kalakaari works with an underprivileged community of women who have been victims of various forms of social and mental abuse and unemployment. We help them become self-reliant by training them on how to be an entrepreneur and generate income to live a decent life by employing their creative talents and skills. This project produces a diverse range of products, such as canvas bags, scrunchies, etc. all of which adhere to more than one SDG.

 

Our community, whom we call our Kalakaars, come from different walks of life. They were unmotivated and with no hope of a better life, but with our encouragement, they are in an improved position and have gained the confidence to get what they want.

 

Having worked with certain communities for a long time, we have seen a drastic change in their lives. Strategically speaking, the quality of our handcrafted products is unmatched, which makes them a great hit among our customers, enabling our exceptionally-skilled Kalakaars to become independent for the first time in their lives.
